Through the Resettlement Program (Reception and Placement program), ETSS provides all newly-arriving refugee families with intensive case management and financial support for their initial months in Columbus. As an affiliate of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), we welcome newly arrived refugees to central Ohio.
Our goal is all families will be financially self-sufficient.
ETSS works together with LIRS, and other churches, organizations, community groups, businesses, and individuals to provide the services and supplies necessary for refugees to become self-sufficient and integrate into their new communities.
At the end of this resettlement period, our goal is that all families will be financially self-sufficient.
Refugees are people who have fled war, violence, conflict or persecution and have crossed an international border to find safety in another country.
There is an unprecedented number of displaced people in our world today. All refugees undergo a rigorous screening prior to entering the U.S.
Today’s refugees come from many parts of the world, including:
- Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Afghanistan
- South Sudan
- Ethiopia
- Syria
- Somalia
- Iran
- Venezuela
Refugees bring valuable contributions to our communities, including an eagerness to work, an entrepreneurial spirit and economic strength as consumers and taxpayers.
